Character Pet Peeves

Hello! And welcome to a new post of Cella's Character Cove.

Today, we're not going to be talking about another of my personal stories or my characters. Originally, that was what I was going to do; talk about my characters that I was brainstorming, but I haven't finished them. Instead, my friend I met earlier this year reached out to me again. Leah and I met him together and wrote some stories together.

Snowball: Zv's character. Drawn by me.

This is Zv. That's what we call him, he prefers it. Say hello!

    "Hi."

Zv is an interesting guy. He has a tenacious mind and ruthless, merciless personality. However, he's also really fun to be around because he's very destructive and chaotic. I haven't known him for a long time but while our conversation today, I realized that he was a perfect candidate for an interview.

Leah's take on Snowball

    "What- how?"

"You know how you like to kill a lot of characters and get in a lot of arguments?"

"Yeah, I hate their characters. Most of them suck."

*Sigh* "Yeah, so let's talk about that, okay? I know there are types of characters you hate, right?"

"I hated angels for a bit. I killed every divine being I met. Hated demons for a bit. Killed them too. Still kill magic CRPers (cringe writers). Everything I hate dies. Magic sucks."

Okay, time out Zv. Let's give our dear reader some background.

Mel: My character who interacted with Snowball

In the setting we met, people go there to create stories with their characters and other people's characters. In most of these communities, there are common rules that prohibit behavior such as making overly-powered (OP) characters and killing other characters without permission.

However, this community, I don't know why, does not require permission to kill another character. Obviously, this puts me on edge a bit so I kind of avoid fights unless it is with my friend. I especially avoid the notorious writer, atender, who always controls monsters and never actual humans. Zv also kills him a lot.

Clementine: Leah's character in the gang

"Do you hate magic in general where the setting is a world with a basic magic system? For example, you know that popular shonen anime called Fairy Tail? It's a world with a whole magic system. Or do you hate how people use magic?"

"Magic in general but if I were to write in a world of magic, I'd be a serial killer - the antagonist, I like being the antagonist-"

    "So do I."

"To kill a world of magic, you must use what you swore to destroy. I've done it before. But yeah, I hate magic CRPers because they rely on the only excuse "it's magic" to actually do something in combat without it making sense."

"I get that. I do like magic worlds when it is done properly though. But god and divine characters are kind of the same, right?"

"Yeah, god writers are annoying because those gods start fights and brag about crap and then use the excuse 'I am god' to win anything. Divines do the same thing. They start fights and act like buttholes."

"Never interact with one of those."

    "Demon OCs are literally everywhere-"

    "Didn't you have one?"

    "He wasn't from hell."

    "Hm."

"But everyone seems to love Satan. I dislike demon OCs."

"Oh so it's not hate like the other ones?"

"Yeah. . . Troll OCs are clowns looking for attention and people who RA (randomly attack) are just bored losers."

"I'm assuming that's how most of the arguments started."

    "Yep. . . I just noticed. I have issues."

    "Haha what??"

    "I don't like this."

"It's okay Zv, you just have a lot of pet peeves."

"I just overall. . . hate people who try hard to be this protagonist god."

"People who try hard to be the main protagonist are annoying, I agree with you on that. There's a difference between naturally being a main character and trying to be the protagonist. In stories, they are usually heroic, naturally have a good soul and don't ask for their gifts. If they are arrogant with their given abilities, then they're not usually the protagonist or main character."

"I haven't even engaged in combat with powers. I've just been outsmarting people with gadgets. . . As if I was Batman."

"Outsmarting is better than overpowering, in my opinion - and Batman is awesome."

    "I'm a huge batman fan."

And this is where the conversation ends, as you can see, we got distracted and went onto talking about Batman.

Well, hope you enjoyed that interesting conversation, featuring the dork, Zv.

That's all from the cove!
