Adieu

Hello all and welcome back to another post from the cove! Well, this may be the last post from the cove.  You, my imaginary audience: "NOOO!!!"  Yes, yes, I know you're very sad, my average of 6 readers.  Fear not, for I may return again ! I enjoy talking about characters and creating them with all of my heart so I think there is a good possibility that I will return. I just no longer have a schedule to go by for this blog. This blog has acted like the imaginary people to care and are interested in my thoughts and adventures in character design. It has been very geeky, but I hope you enjoyed some of the blogs. When I am fangirling about a character archetype again, I will know to come here.  So, I won't be back for a while, but check every couple months, for you may find a returning blog.  Till next time, my dear audience. That's all from the cove! - Cella

A new leaf

Hi everyone and welcome back to the newest and latest post!     "Where the hell have you been and what's new, dude?"     I have been refreshed, I HAVE BEEN LIBERATED! I'm not some weird cultist- I just have been lifted from my year long character block. It's been such a frustrating time but now, thanks to friends and new friends, I am motivated once more.      "So... what caused this to happen??"     Here's what happened:     D&D? What? A nerd's game, I know. We tried it, we did it virtually, it was cheesy and awkward but very fun. Thanks to my friend, Matt, he was the DM and guided the campaign with his funky wizard, Wizzdog. I made a gnome who would only be a temporary character but I was renewed. HERE'S THE GANG! Gren Glooby, the Gnome. (Art by me) Idae, Taylor's character. (Art by Taylor) Yei Acacia, Dylan's character. (Art by Taylor) Dein, Matt's character. (Art by Matt) October, Taylor's character. (Ar...

Super Cool Untitled World

Hey there, it's Cella back with another post. It's been a while but I'm still alive. This post and my next post will be dedicated to world building. We are going to be starting off with one that I am creating with the help of some friends and next time we will be joined by a pro-world builder, my good friend, Matt.      But for now, I thought I'd start off with the basics since my world is still being created and walk you through our process. Next time, you will be seeing a successful and well-developed world.      "So, Cella, what are the basics of your world?"     We have no name for the world/ story yet. It's just called "super cool thing" as of right now. It was officially started on December 14th, 3:09 pm. It was created by me and my friend Zv who was in one of my recent posts about character pet peeves. Anyways, let's start.     The Basics:     Genre: Sci-fi          Sub-genres: Mil...

Let's Build Characters!

Hello everyone and welcome back to another post of Cella's Cove! Today's post is special because I will be joined by two fellow bloggers and they will be helping me, as you can tell by the title, make characters! These two lovely ladies are Abby and Kristina . I will be walking you through a basic character creation for five characters and they will be aiding me in choosing certain characteristics.              So, what we have to establish first is the setting that they live in and exist in. Abby took care of that, since she is creating a plot line for our characters. Our setting is a modern day time and at a school, probably in the spring.         How does this relate to the characters?         Well, we know that their clothing won't mainly consist of parkas and uggs.  The Main Character  ...

How To: Character Design

Image
Hello! Welcome to another post of Cella's Cove. This is a long awaited basic post, I mean my whole blog is about character design. Not only do I love analyzing other characters in media, I like to make my own. So this time, I'm going to be giving you some tips that we keep in mind when creating a character.      Tip #1: Silhouettes      Popular characters in media are often recognizable by their silhouettes. We often see these silhouettes on merchandise or in art. Batman merch is almost always recognizable unless you have been closed off from the world and modern day culture. Even if you don't know who the character is in the silhouette, you can still recognize it's shape if it is very unique.       Here, let's do a little test:      Guess who the character is! #1 #2 #3 #4 #5 #6 #7 If you didn't get all of them, that's fine! Just means you aren't as exposed to certain genres of ...
