Black Sheep

 

    This post has probably been well anticipated. I have a blog all about character creation, so I'm bound to have my own characters too, right? Well, here is the first post of my own characters! Originally, I was going to make this post on the characters I am making currently, but they aren't well developed and they are fandom ocs.

Blog Topic Background:

    This year, I've found myself with a very special opportunity. I have a first period gym class- first time I've had it in the beginning of the day! During this weird covid schedule, I assumed that gym would be the most dreadful; that I'd be walking around the track for like 40 minutes by myself. 

    However, I've found a new friend- well she's an old acquaintance but we never really had serious conversations before. Now, each morning we walk around, we talk about writing stories together. 

    She has helped me realize how much I still love writing. I'm determined to find my own time and to start working on my stories again, especially the well fleshed-out ones I have that aren't yet complete.

Black Sheep: Personal Work 1:

    Four years ago this month, a mysterious friend and I started this story. We both had our characters and we had no set plot or anything planned besides the characters and setting. We just jumped into the writing and it spiraled into a wonderful memory. 

Astrid Leonard

    A girl with long-overgrown white hair and an eyepatch on her left eye. She dressed in a grunge-punk style with a red flannel, black ripped jeans, black boots, and a black tank. Astrid was quite short but she was very talented with her almost super-human strength. 

Riku

    A tall boy with tan skin and black hair. He wore a red bandana along with his signature black trench coat. He wore a casual v-neck gray shirt underneath, with dark jeans and boots. Riku is extremely agile and is well trained in martial arts.

    We had no idea what we were doing. It started out as two kids in a bar who started talking and drinking. They both got drunk and it quickly turned into a fight between two competitive souls. Astrid ended up losing the fight and they made up by a waterfall. 

And that was the end. 

Until two years later in April of 2018.

    My mysterious friend came back online and reached out to me. I was happy to hear from him and we revived our old characters! Of course, with a wardrobe change. My bestfriend Leah was there too, as you may know her from the previous blog. She joined the story this time, along with another stranger who I didn't know too well.

Astrid Leonard

    Two years passed in the story. The two friends meet up again at a diner in a town close to where they first met. Her hair is still untamed but at least she isn't wearing all black! Astrid wears a salmon-tangerine track jacket with white stripes on the sleeves. Underneath, she wears a white tee. Her pants- black again, are open on the sides with a stitch pattern. 

Riku

    Went off to college and worked out a bunch (he included that, not me). His hair is dyed a lighter brown and he has glasses now. He wears a brighter, trendy shirt that has floral designs and Japanese characters. 

Dove

    Leah's character. She is an alien-type girl with a color palette of purple, pink and orange. Her hair is long and she is super energetic. She has antennae's and a tail. She met Astrid when they were little girls. 

Tom

    The other guy who was there. He was a shy guy who wore layers and had a scarf. He was nerdy as well and had glasses. He was interested in Dove.

    This time, things were more.. feely? There was a lot of romantic tension between Astrid and Riku, as well as Dove and Tom. I did not expect it and we did not plan on it. It sorta just happened? They all crossed paths in the diner. Astrid and Riku had a fight and Dove was trying match-making. 

A year later, I had a dream about the characters: Astrid and Riku.

    I had already started writing everything again, putting it into a story. But then I had this dream about two other characters. There was always a supernatural element in the story but this kind of explained it more and helped me develop the plot.

Black Sheep Plot:

    A group of maybe 20 children were born into the world with super-human, supernatural abilities. They each had their own unique ability. A group called the Wolves was formed to track down and monitor these strange children. They were enthusiasts of the unknown and supernatural and wished to capture these children, study them and use them. However, since there were only a limited amount of children, it quickly became a competition to label them for their own and mark their territory. These kids were then known as the Black Sheep. Physical marks were placed on them to warn others that they were already claimed.

    There you have it, that's the background of my personal story: Black Sheep. It's still a work in progress and I don't have any conclusion to it. I don't know if Mystery Boy will be coming back, it is about time because two years has passed. I've been waiting for a long time but I don't know for certain if he will come back. I assumed he moved on. I guess we will just have to see.
